Guest guest
Hi Bob the Blob! You are so funny. OK, so you are on 2 1/2 grains. I suspect you are simply not on enough Armour. If your doc is like 99.9% of other docs, he's lab-obsessed. So tell him that you need your free T3 to be at the top of the range, if not over the range, to feel optimal. You can get more info on that by reading Dommisse's article in the FILES section of this site. Also inform him that to get to your optimal dose with the free T3, it will make your TSH below one. Mine, for example, is .009. That does NOT mean I am hyper. I have NO hyper symptoms. It just means that I am letting Armour do the job that my thyroid canNOT. There is a recent post from Louise from yesterday, quoting Dr. Lowe about the necessity in some to get the TSH that low. When you do labs, forgo the daily Armour. The T3 in Armour peaks within 2 hours after taking it, and it can also raise your T3 anyway. The reason you want to forgo your Armour before labs is actually strategy to deal with lab-obsessed docs. Did you know that before the TSH came into existence, and when folks were treated solely by symptoms, the minimum effective dose of Armour was 3 grains and beyond? That influenced many of us awhile back to see what happened if we neared 3 grains, and it worked. That does NOT mean that everyone here should be at 3 grains of beyond!! But I suspect that you are one of those who might. Yes, a low Ferritin seems to be a problem with a LOT of us. It has been a revelation that WE are discovering before the docs. So having that tested could be wise. Adrenals are great, too. There are some who need adrenal support, and there are some who don't. It's individual. Hope that helps. Don't hesitate to ask any other questions. Janie, Red Raider 1974 > I'm taking 150 mg of Armour, still having varying low temp 96.9 - 97.3 > overweight, lethargic, dry skin. Guest guest
Hi, Bob, Do you mind if I ask what doctor you see? Is he a GP/Endocrinologist? He'll test the TSH, Free T3, and Free T4, right? My doctor caught the fact that I was low on B12, so he prescribed a B12, B16, Folic Acid supplement. Maybe ask for a Vitamin B-12 level. And Thyroid Antibodies, if you haven't had that done yet -- thyroid peroxidase AB, Thyroglobulin AB, etc., to see if you have any thyroid antibody activity. If they are doing a blood test for your adrenals, ask for Cortisol and DHEA Sulfate. Also Testosterone would be a great idea. Good luck! , San > I'm taking 150 mg of Armour, still having varying low temp 96.9 - 97.3 > overweight, lethargic, dry skin. Some of you mentioned asking about > ferritin levels and adrenal function.
