The symptoms will disappear when you take enough Armour to get rid of them. Most people do feel a change pretty soon, but it does take time. It sounds like to me you're not on enough Armour. Some docs have said most people need around 3 grains...but that is an average. Most folks with Hashimoto's seem to do better with their TSH totally suppressed. But have your doctor check your Free T4 and Free T3 thyroid hormone levels. You'll feel better if the Free T4 is in the mid/high range and with the Free T3 in the high/upper range. Welcome! She agreed thank God, Not an uncommon reaction for an endo. It's a sad situation. But good for you for researching and pursuing the Armour. You'll probably do much better on it. Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is and I was diagnosed with hashimotos in April of this year. My doctor gave me synthroid 50 and sent me to an endo and he put me on levoxal 112 mcg. When I asked him about Armour, he seemed appalled that I dare ask about it. I have been reading all the books and internet writings I could find on the treatments and decided to tell my family doctor to put me on Armour. She agreed thank God, and prescribed 1.5 gr. I have been taking it for about 9 days now, I think I feel better, but it's kind of hard to tell. You know what I mean? or is there a big change? How do you know if your on the right strenght? How do you all take your meds? and when will symptoms disappear? I have the common tiredness, brain fog, forgetfulness, aches and pains, digestive problems and moodiness. I tend not to like myself sometimes and I know it's hard on my family, me being sick and all. I'm glad I found this group and helps to read about others and what they are doing to feel better. Thanks in advance...

Guest guest
Hi, , If your Armour is dosed at 1.5 grains, then you may be on too little. Most of the folks I know who use Armour are on 2 grains per day or more. I do split dosing now (read below) and others do multi-dosing. But 1.5 seems pretty low to me.... I was on either Synthroid or Levoxyl at 2.25 mcg for nearly 10 years with no improvement. My family doctor switched me over to Armour 2 grains and the 30-year long depression lifted by the end of the first month. There was almost immediate improvement in my other symptoms, too, but then I seemed to " plateau " and the annoying symptoms remained. My doctor still prescribes my 2 grain Armour, but I purchased 1 grain Armour online and have been taking the 1 grain in the afternoons, about an hour after lunch. Those remaining symptoms are much improved, but return when I forget to take the second dose (as I found out by missed it on Sunday). Dianne ---------- --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
