Guest guest
It's really sort of individual, Dianne. I was told generally it's 20 points per glucose tab but for myself, doing testing when I wasn't low, learned it was only 10 points per tab. Another one of those YMMV thingies, smile. Once you come out of this low, you should do a couple of tests just to find out for future reference. Take one sometime when insulin from your last meal has finished, maybe right before the next meal. Check your BG then set the timer for 5 minutes and test every 5 minutes thereafter until there's no more appreciable rise. Then you'll know for sure. (And remember that allowable 20% variation!) Guest guest
Hope the honey didn't put you in rollercoaster territory. You could 've taken a tablet then checked in 15 minutes. Oh well. I do suggest you do the test I mentioned earlier, just in case it happens again. Guest guest
Interesting...I didn't know that. I buy glucose tabs by the big bottle at Costco so I always have plenty around. If you're doing MDI and trying for tight control, as I am, I often have numbers pretty close to the hypo line so it's important to have glucose tabs handy. I don't keep honey in the house. It'd go granular before I used it up, smile. Guest guest
I like the raspberry ones myself, smile. Vicki Re: Glucose tablets > I love the smell of honey.
