The recommended dosage for adrenal support is 5.0 prednisolone per day.

Peatfield says that occassionally 7.5 is needed. He says most folks see results

in a couple of months...although some need it longer.

This sounds like typical guff from the AMA. They are so scared they are going

to lose control over us!! Deborah

Check this out

You have got To check out this web site. I couldn't list everthing

The Mercury Amalgam Scam:

How Anti-Amalgamists Swindle People

An extensive review published in 1993 by the U.S. Department of

Health and Human Services concluded that " there is scant evidence

that the health of the vast majority of people with amalgam is

compromised or that removing fillings has a beneficial effect on

health. "

DHEA: Ignore the Hype

The Food and Drug Administration isn't sure what to do with DHEA

supplements. Ten years ago the agency told companies to stop selling

DHEA, which was marketed at the time for weight loss, and classified

it as an unapproved new drug, obtainable only by prescription. Then

in 1994, DHEA was reclassified as a dietary supplement, allowing

sales over the counter.

Dubious Diagnostic Tests

Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratory offers many other dubious tests

that are ordered by practitioners who engage in nonstandard diagnosis

and treatment. The situation so egregious that Aetna has issued a

coverage policy bulletin about some of GSDL's test panels [5].

Wild Yam Cream " Threatens Women's Health

Thus, not only is there little reason to suppose that Wild Yam Cream

would be helpful for the medical conditions for which it is being

promoted, but it doubtful that it ever could be as useful as

synthetic progesterone.

Don't Trust Advice from Health-Food Retailers!

The investigators stated that their goiter was being treated with

thyroid hormone and asked whether any of the store's products would

help. All ten retailers said yes. Two advised stopping the hormone

treatment, six advised kelp, two advised iodine tablets, two advised

a raw-gland preparation containing thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary

and adrenal gland extracts, and one advised a raw thyroid

preparation. (Health-food-store products made from animal glandular

tissues are not legally permitted to contain potent amounts of

hormones. Some do, however, as noted in Appendix C, but they are not

reliable because the dosage is variable.)

Promoters of Questionable Methods

Each of the following has been involved in some way with the

promotion or administration of questionable health products and/or

services. Many of them have written at least one book that I believe

contains invalid information.

Stay Away from Adrenal Cortical Extract (ACE

Adrenal cortical extract (ACE) has no legitimate medical use.

Although banned from the American marketplace in 1978, it is still

prescribed by a few hundred fringe practitioners. This article

describes what happened and why you should stay away from anyone who

recommends it.

Thanks for posting this. Here is one clip of one of those articles

that concerns me about supporting our adrenals:

" Prolonged daily treatment with more than replacement dosage of

adrenocortical steroids produces major complications sooner or later

in virtually all patients. Some of these complications, such as

suppression of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal responsiveness and

gastrointestinal hemorrhage, may be life-threatening; other effects,

such as Cushing's disease, severe osteoporosis, or suppression of

growth in children, are also serious. Administration of

corticosteroids in a single dose every other day, instead of the usual

divided daily doses, may avoid or minimize these adverse effects. "

I have pure sublingual adrenal drops, and now I am worried about using

them. I have always been skeptical but have felt like I would do

" ANYTHING " to start feeling better. Anybody else here have reserves

about using adrenal support? I definitely show the signs (according to

Dr. Rind), but the adrenal support I have used does not seems to work

for me.

I read an article yesterday that was talking about osteoporosis and

the Dr who wrote the article described 7.5mg daily for more than 6

months as a high dose and also an increased risk of osteoporosis

quote " Watch out for steroids - these are used to treat a

range of serious conditions and doctors prescribe them only when there

is no other choice. If you must take them, ask about other medicines you can

also take to protect your bones. These should now be offered routinely to people

taking high doses of steroids (7.5mg or more daily) for six months or longer. "

yes...prednisolone is a derivative of prednisone that has been chemically

changed for easy passage through the liver.

Hi,

Is Prednisolone like Prednisone in that it's 4 times stronger than Cortef? Just

wondering.

I know Cortef is recommended 20 mg. a day. Usually 10 in the morning 5 maybe 4

hours

later and another 5 either 4 hours later or bedtime. Something like that. This

would make

sense since he says 5 mg. a day.

It will work next year too but you will need to add 1756 instead of 1755. The

following year you will need to add 1757 etc. etc.
