Guest guest
Hi , I should tell you that many doctors don't believe you can have systemic yeast unless you're severely immune compromised. My neighbor/friend who was just diagnosed with diabetes had it show up in her bloodstream via a lab test. She was briefly hospitalized, and is still battling the infection. In my case, I not only tested positive for vaginal yeast, but an oral swab and stool sample also showed " abundant yeast. " Trying not to be gross here, but I even had a frothy yeast-type discharge from the rectum. I was constantly nauseated and tired, and had 10-12 episodes of watery diarrhea a day. I lost 15 pounds and missed a month of work. After a week of ketoconazole, these symptoms subsided. I don't think the yeast ever completely went away, though. BTW, my immune system is actually OVERactive--my blood tests show a high ANA count, which can indicate autoimmune problems. I think yeast just really, really likes me.
