I only got rid of the discharge by stopping daily progesterone. As long as I was on that regimen, I had the discharge. Now instead, I used Vivelle.dot .75 Estradiol patch 7 days a week (changed twice a week) and compounded Prometrium once every 60 days (it must be taken for 12 days). The Prometrium is 100 mg a.m. and 100 mg P.m. for the 12 days.

The telling thing is that when I first started on the non daily Progesterone regimen, I was taking the patch in .50 and within about 3 weeks noticed a difference in the discharge. I was still hot flashing and had incontinence problems like crazy, so doc upped me to the Vivelle.dot .1 and after about another 2 weeks the discharge was completely gone. I am now on Vivelle.dot .75 at my doc's insistence because she's leery of the higher doses. I felt my best at the .1 dose - minimal hot flashes and panic attacks, and fairly well controlled urinary incontinence , but I bowed to her insistence because I have read enough to know that estrogen is not without its dangers.

So, anyway, I'm not so sure the dosage of the Estrogen mattered as much as simply just using the estrogen WITHOUT the Progesterone did.

At the .75 and .1 dose of estrogen, however, I am unable to regularly use topical Estrogen to further heal the skin without spotting. I am apparently one of those people who is very sensitive to the topical estrogen and asborb it fast.
