Hi Louise,

I totally agree with you. I don't think the diet can completely prevent the

onset, especially

if you have relatives with it. But diet can improve things.

But here's something to think about: Don't families often have a similar diet?

But then other experts say there is something genetic about thyroid

disease - if one close family member has it that increases your

chances of having it. So that would have nothing to do with the food

you eat.
