I have written this once before, but I seriously doubt that petroleum

or any other vehicle was " clogging your pores. " Zinc oxide creams are

often sold in non-prescription forms as a treatment option for acne in

a multitude of chemical vehicles (see the descrption for the " Zinc

Oxide Cream for Problem Skin " at www.margarite.com). I suspect that

zinc oxide was in the process of expressing severely compounded (and,

hence, invisible) open comedones (blackheads) that had infested the

pores of your nose. To my knowledge, this expression via exfoliation

is a necessary step in the treament of moderate to severe acne.

I have been incorporating zinc oxide (first, in the form of Desitin

Creamy - 10% zinc oxide/cyclomethicone/dimethicone - and now

Margarite's " Zinc Cream for Problem Skin " - 30% zinc oxide/10% sulfur

minus the aforementioned ketones) and also experienced such an

expression of the blackheads in the nasal pores, which had previously

been treated with Tretinol - Retin A. After approximately one month of

zinc oxide use, the blackheads have substantially abated, especially

along the side crevices of my nose, and I'm as happy as a lark! Thus,

stick out the exacerbation phase of acne treatment or the blackheads

will never be usurped from your nasal pores!
