Guest guest
Vada, I just read your story and wish I had some words of comfort for you. I find myself angry at the system, though. Have you been in contact with an Attorney. It sounds as if you have a very plausible Medical malpractice suit just waiting to be filed. It may take years, but you will at least have your meds paid for, etc. If you are not happy on the medications, try and find a Dr. who is more willing to be experimental in your treatment without meds. It is possible to live life with RSD without a lot of medications, however, it is not easy. I could not function on all the meds they put me on when I was first diagnosed, and have changed my lifestyle, etc. enough to allow me to still work and not be on a lot of meds. Guest guest
Vada - Jees, I wish knew more about legal stuff. It sounds as if you might have a serious medical malpractice suit on your hands. Most attorneys will take on cases on a percentage basis if they believe that they have a better than average chance of winning. Please get some info from folks you trust regarding a decent malpractice attorney in your area. Don't tip your hand to this surgeon (or any of your docs for that matter) that you are looking into a lawsuit. You don't want them communicating and covering their collective butts. Let the attorney be the one to request your medical records and keep a paper trail. Try to remember, if you can, who told you about things as they occurred (e.g. the ICU nurses, the surgeon, etc.). Perhaps your parents can help you fill in the holes. Most importantly, know that we are here for your support. Fill out the paperwork for free care at the hospital. Apply for state medical insurance. Check into SSDI. We can help you along the way. Do whatever DSS says you need to do, following the Service Plan to the letter. Always be on time for the visits for your kids that are scheduled. Always be polite to the DSS worker.....Save your venting for here. By the way, what state do you live in? Pardon me if this seems a little long but I think it would do better to tell from start to finish and as you all know I may repeat myself or mispell things but hopefully you will be able to hang in there,

Guest guest
Hi Vada, my name is Lori, I just read your story. I've been working too much this week and am way behind, so I'm sorry I didn't get this sooner. My heart goes out to you in so many ways, I hardly even know what to say. My RSD was the result of a surgery too but not by a mistake with the surgery. My surgeon basically dismissed me too and I'm so angry at him for not paying attention to my pain and the appearance of my knee. I can imagine you must be at least 10 times more angry with yours as it was a mistake. As for your children I will pray for you that you get them back. I'm fairly new to this so I don't have many encouraging words, I apologize. They keep increasing my dosages as well on several narcotics and neurontin. I'm managing to keep my job by working at home so far, so luckily I have my insurance but sometimes I wonder why I'm taking all of these when they don't help, so I know what you mean. The only thing I can say about your children is I'm so thankful they placed them with your sister so you still have them in your life. I don't understand how they got taken away when you live with your parents but I won't ask. My heart bleeds for you, it really does. Sadly I don't have any children and my last boyfriend broke up with me because of all of this, so I can't imagine losing my children, but I can say I'm so hearbroken that I will probably never have the opportunity to have children now, I think that has passed me now and it makes me so sad. I'm only 32 but my lifelong dream of having a bunch of kids is fading away. So in a way I can sympathize with you but I cannot imagine your pain. Please know I am here to listen even if I can't help, and hope we can become friends. Lori
Guest guest
Thanks for the advice on Bextra, I'm trying to find something to get rid of the burning. I will bring it up to my doctor. Thanks and hope you are feeling a little better! Lori
