2.5 year old, with speech delay and sensory issues, and telephone--help!

Hi, this is Benny's grandma again. I am wondering if anybody else has

had the difficulties that I have. Benny is crazy about me, jumps up

and down and yells grandma! when he sees me, and yet when I try to talk

to him on the phone, he smiles, but then goes away and covers his ears.

I can't figure out whether it is a sensory problem, or I'm talking too

loud on the phone (or saying the wrong things?), or he feels under

pressure to talk and can't because of the pressure. Has anybody had

any similar experience or any suggestions?
