Guest guest
A website which discusses mercury in fish and safety of fish is at: http://www.epa.gov/waterscience/fishadvice/advice.html Ora >You should only eat fish 2 times a week. I was on a site the other day, I THINK it was the CDC site and it had a list of fish and their mercury content. Salmon had the letters NP nest to it and so did one other fish but the others had a mercury amount. I was assuming that salmon was low since it had no number next to it. Do not get cod liver oil. Its not a good one. Get one that has salmon oil in it or another fish thats low mercury. >C~ >

Guest guest
Thanks for that link! I knew that tuna was high in mercury because when I was pregnant in the summer the doctor told me NOT to eat tuna. I know salmon is good, but actually I don't like it that much. The last time I made it I actually used a recipe that called for barbeque sauce and that wasn't too bad. I love tilapia though. I was always thinking that shrimp was high in mercury, so I was glad to find out that it wasn't. Maureen
Guest guest
The problem with salmon is that most of it is farmed. Farmed salmon is very dangerous due to the levels of pesticides, hormones, and color added to it. If you are going to eat salmon, only eat wild Alaskan salmon, which if you can't find it fresh, you can eat canned. I take a supplement of salmon oil that is certified to have very to be nearly pesticide free by independent laboratory testing. If you are interested in the link, let me know and I will provide it. Also, the type of Omega-3 found in fish (long chain fatty acid) is generally considered more beneficial than the type found in flax or walnuts. JR > > > Thanks for that link!
