Anyways, I just read your message and noticed that you take your child to UCLA. Does your child see Dr. Rawlings? My son does. We were going to CHLA up to 3 weeks ago. We were slated to see Dr. Rawlings, but we truly only see him in passing. We see Dr. Gallagher and she reviews the case with him. So far it appears we are making progress. Last night I dropped Skylers Prednisone dosage another step and today he is doing just fine, so maybe the cyclosporin is working for him. We are supposed to return to UCLA in a month for another follow up, though funds are nil, we will try to get to this. How are they treating your son? as in drugs. My son goes to a homeschool center, sponsored by our school district a couple of times a week. While I was there, a Moslem man was enrolling his children. I was asked to answer some questions. He was a very nice gentleman. I couldn't help but ask how he was doing. It turns out that he is the local leader (priest?) at the Mosque here. He expressed his outrage at this horrible incident. I asked if people were being good to him and his family. He said the majority of people have been very supportive, but his Mosque has had many hateful phone calls. This is part of the reason he has decided to homeschool his children..fear. I asked how he was holding up, and he said, " OK, I am from South Africa, and I am used to this kind of thing " . I pray that we will never become " used " to this kind of thing. My husband's family spent time in internment camps during World War II and I hope the USA has moved well beyond this. M. Guest guest Posted January 24, 2004 Report Share Posted January 24, 2004 Im real paranoid about health things...and I dont worry about the sex issue with hubby...They can never say something is 100 per-cent ...But it is almost nil....with it being around 3 per-cent....and for the Mother with the nineteen year old..you have come to a good group here..just research everything you can and also realize most people have had it years before they even knew...I would guess my husband got it in the 70 " s either from drug use or the Army....and I also was a drug user in the 70 " s but also had a blood transfusion in the 80 " s before blood was tested for HCV..... The actual test wasn't so horrible. They numbed me part of the way while they were putting the needles in. It bothered me when the needle hit a nerve or something else. I felt the most pain afterwards. They moved me on the stretcher to have a CT scan of my three discs after the procedure and I just cried. I hardly remembered or cared about the CT scan. I didn't bring any pain medication with me and should have. The doctor ended up giving me something for pain because I couldn't take it any longer. I did find out after visiting my second opinion doctor that I didn't need to have this test done. He could tell by my x-ray that I needed surgery. I had a fusion at L5-S1. It's often helpful to delete some or even all, however, depending on the situation. Except for those blessed with rare insight or memory, few would know what I'm talking about here unless I included your msg, but no one has to read that. What makes it extra tough on this list is the clutter of ads and boxes that must be included or great pains gone through to copy/paste/delete around, but then that's the way it is. This is a great list with vital insightful messages, BUT it can be improved if everyone would just delete the original message that automatically appears when posting a reply.
