Guest guest
Hi Jr, I had a bartholin's cyst a few years ago. I had VV at the time, but hadn't been diagnosed yet, so I don't know if it caused it or could cause it. I assumed it was some sort of physical blockage, as they didn't mention or treat inflammation. It swelled up and pushed out of the skin like an egg. I had day surgery for it. Hope that helps! Has anyone with vestibulitis . . . .. . .suffered with blockage of the Bartholin duct? Since vestibulitis generally involves inflammation involving the minor vestibular glands, I'm just wondering if anyone has had problems with Bartholin gland cysts as a result of blockage of the ducts from vestibulitis. Thanks,JR*****END OF MESSAGE/REMOVE WHEN REPLYING*****http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VulvarDisordersto search our archive or view our files.***
Guest guest
Thanks for your response. What type of surgery did you have for it, and did it ever recur after that? Thanks again, JR > Hi Jr, > > I had a bartholin's cyst a few years ago. I had VV at the time, but hadn't been diagnosed yet, so I don't know if it caused it or could cause it. Guest guest
Hi Jr, It was surgery under general anaesthesia. They made a small incision and drained the cyst, and removed the blockage I presume if there was one. They put in a little balloon and tube to keep it draining so it wouldn't block again. I had the surgery around midnight and went home the next day around dinnertime. I was supposed to keep the tube in for a few weeks but it really hurt me so I had it removed at the hospital a few days later. It's never happened again, thank goodness Has anyone with vestibulitis . . .> > > . . .suffered with blockage of the Bartholin duct? Guest guest
thanks for the info. You are definitely lucky as with this type of procedure the recurrence rate is very high, especially if you didn't keep the catheter in for at least two weeks. I'm glad you are done with this problem. JR > > Hi Jr, > > > > I had a bartholin's cyst a few years ago.
