yeast allergy/hypersensitivity?

I've read about this and wonder if anyone has ever been diagnosed with this and

how one

can be tested for it and what kind of Doctor does this.

If you have been diagnosed with this, were your cultures clearly positive for

yeast?

My symptoms are cyclical (worst before my period) and I used to have recurrent

yeast in

the past. Now my cultures have been positive for a while, but I still have

burning

symptoms (vestibulitis) on contact.

What do you mean by " add my progesterone into my HRT? "

What is HRT? How do you add progesterone?

Also is it normal for the discharge to have somewhat

of an odor? Not too bad, but a little bit. It's not

a fishy odor, but very distinct smell. Like dry or

...... I'm not sure how to describe it.

I am using Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) because I am menopausal. If you are menopausal , have your uterus and are using HRT, you are most likely using both estrogen and progesterone , or their synthetic equivalents. If you are using birth control pills, they too are most likely made up of estrogens and progesterones or their synthetic equivalents. I understand that many birth control pills have more progesterones in them than estrogens and this may screw up our "natural" balance of hormones.

From what I've read, you shouldn't have a fishy odor or an ammonia like odor - these indicate trouble. Other ladies on these lists have said that you also shouldn't have an odor like fresh baked bread - indicating a possible yeast infection. Otherwise, yes we all have a natural odor - which I've often heard referred to as musky - which we often never notice ourselves because we don't often have the reasons to inspect these areas of of bodies so very carefully as we do when we have this awful disorder of vulvodynia.
