Guest guest
Hi! I recently had another MRI (this time with CSF Flow Studies) and my neurologist is unsure what they actually mean in terms of the headaches I get every day. I have known for 2 years that I have a ACM 5 mm, but does anyone know or can you interpret or have you had similar results from CSF Flow Studies. My neurologist is a really kind and open minded man and has had me on just about every medication there is over the last 3 years for " migraine " although he is unsure whether I actually have migraine and is coming to the conclusion that it is probably Chiari causing the symptoms ie. headache, dizziness, mild/moderate left ear hearing loss, mild tinnitus, fatigue, feelings of shaking within head. Are my results consistent with the majority of ACMers? And what does the term compliance mean in my MRI results below? MRI/CSF Flow studies are below my name Thanks all, (Australia) MRI BRAIN T2 and inversion recovery and diffusion weighted axial images have been performed followed by T1 saggital images. Next acqueduct and vascular flow studies have been performed. There is no evidence of abnormal signal within the brain, brainstem or cereellum. There is tonsillar herniation through the foramen magnum which is measured at approximately 5-6 mms. The vascular flow studies show a slight reduction in blood flow through the superior saggital sinuses approximately 360mls/min. There is also evidence of some reduction in compliance. COMMENT The features suggest that the obstruction to CSF flow at the foramen magnum may be significant as there is a reduction in overall blood flow and compliance in the superior sagittal sinus territory.
