Hi Kathllen,

I was about to reply to your earlier message when the kids called in that

way that moves all parents to tears...

...DAAAADDD!!!.( or MOOOMMMM)

Anyway thats why the quick amen!! I cannot tell how much this list has

come to mean to me. Jodi said it best when she said that people on this list

mean so much even though we have never met.We all share these common

experiences (no matter what the label) and each of us, dealing with the hands

we are dealt, still manage to reach beyond ourselves to each other. ITS SOO

AWESOME!!!

To my friends,

Peace and Prayers

I was just talking to my friend yesterday about this very thing. We were

talking about whether we were going to have more kids. Anyway, I said that

although its been a little tough, I wouldn't change a thing about Abby. I

would like to skip this illness because I don't want her to be in pain but

as far as the growth and all, that is who she is. This is her life

experience and being her mom is part of mine. I told her that quote too

(True humility is understanding that everyone else has had just a difficult

a time as you have) and that everything she goes through and that we go

through with her is what allows us to grow and learn. Easy to say, I know

but I'm trying to accept the challenges and remember my strength.

Also, wanted to share--When I was pregnant with Abby (who we thought was

going to die in uteruo at the time because our first daughter had), my

friend/co-worker was pregnant with her second son, had a toddler at home and

was facing divorce. She'd walk past my desk and we'd say to each other, " A

day at a time " , " an hour at a time " , or " a breath at a time " to let the

other know how we were feeling. Some days we felt strong and ready to face

what life had handed us and other times we could barely get out of bed-but

we did and we forced ourselves because even when it hurt to walk, we knew

the strength would come because it was part of us. She was amazing and some

of the talks we had were wonderful. It helped me to reach out to her and

offer my support when I thought my own life was falling apart, and I think

it was mutual. Maybe that's part of the reason we're so connected on this

list. To help someone else when you don't think you have anything to give

makes you realize that the amount of love, strength and compassion in us is

infinite.

Jodi, Thanks. You seem to have such a more positive outlook on things. I had

that and lost it somewhere. I feel I'm so negative these days, and forget to

focus on the positive things that are happening in our lives - like having 3

beautiful children that God was good enough to bless me with. With all your

support, I know somehow we'll get thru it. Some days I just don't feel like

being all smiles and stuff. Cheryl
