Guest guest
Yes, Yes, YES!! Do them!! Do them!! Not only do they help with incontinence that often comes during and after pgcy... and with labor/delivery... and with healing of tears/episiotomy... but with a vaginal delivery, often the vagina is stretched out and much looser, which can make for less-enjoyable sex afterwards... but if you do Kegels and continue doing them afterwards, they will help tone up your vagina so that all the fun won't be gone! hehe DO THOSE KEGELS!!! I'm totally serious... and very enthusiastic about them because they're the easiest exercising I've ever done and they bring so much enjoyment. ROFLMHO -Kris - Kegels HI GIrls I was wondering from those of you who have been preg b4 if you did Kegel exercises. I know they are sposed to help with delivery, bouncing back, incontinence, etc. BUt i cna't get motivated. It cracks me up coz I am doing quite well with my regular exercise ( swim and bike) but this simple little sit and squeeze thing just isn't happening. SO my Q is does it work? SHould I push harder to get going or is it not really that imp? Thanks LEnore ______________________________________________ FREE Personalized Email at Mail.com Sign up at http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup

Guest guest
Kegals do work !! it also helps preventing episomtomies and tears- and have effective pushing also!! try doing it or taking a mental note of doing them when your at the grocery store in line waiting or just sitting there at the computer you dont have to do them all the time but just a few sets a day... good luck Shonda Kegels > HI GIrls > I was wondering from those of you who have been preg b4 if you did Kegel > exercises. Guest guest
, I don't get this. Water is helping the same things kegels does? If I swim I can skip the kegels? I know ...I know, you all said I better start squeezing. Guest guest
sorry, the water helps during labor relaxing the muscles and keepin you relaxed. the kegels actually helps up inside. didnt mean for that to sound so confusing. the massaging water on your tummy is supposed to help with the contractions not be so strong. our hospital just put in a whirlpool to help with labor pains too. i cant wait to try it. julie Kegels > > >HI GIrls >I was wondering from those of you who have been preg b4 if you did Kegel >exercises. Guest guest
Hmmm this is interesting. In the new house that we are building there will be a small lap pool. Maybe I will wanna stay home longer so I can whirlpool it up instead of rushing to the hosp. My hosp has showers in every labor room but not whirlpools. As it is I loooove the water an dam an avid swimmer. That is if the #@! & house is cooked b4 the baby, we just got delayed 2 months. Not a happy camper. When you say " massaging water on your tummy " you mean just rubbing your tummy while you are immersed? Guest guest
boy, my mom built a house last summer that they were gonna be in in june and it was november before they got in....right in the middle of deerhunting season. dad was not a happy camper either. they have removable shower heads that you can run water in circles on your tummy and it is enough to help i guess....i havent tried that yet. thought i would wait and try at that time. in the whirlpool it would go over your tummy and around you to help relax the muscles. they said that even sitting in a tub and pouring warm water over your belly will help. i will let you know. they talked about drugs too. i was all for the epidural but the thought scared the heck out of me. i dont know why since i had one with surgery but they dont give you drugs when you need to push. that dont make sense to me since i would think thats when you would need them. this is all new to me. i have been totally ignorant before because i would never go through it. boy, i am learning now in a big hurry!!!!! now i would like to know how my baby with a head of a 30 cm circumference at the last ultrasound is going to come through that 10 cm dilation....i know, grow up. i have been having nightmares about 12 lbs baby boys and mike tells me that he has been dreaming about twin boys. i hope i have it soon so it doesnt end up being triplets!!! better stop now. too much caffiene. julie p.s. i decided after our class that i aint gonna have this baby...mike can. this is gonna hurt. Guest guest
- RE: Kegels i was all for the epidural but the thought scared the heck out of me. i dont know why since i had one with surgery but they dont give you drugs when you need to push. that dont make sense to me since i would think thats when you would need them. -------------- Actually, you don't. From what I understand, once you get to the pushing stage, it's almost a relief because you get to push against the contractions instead of just enduring them, and the intense pressure on your vaginal walls makes them a little numb when the head is coming on through. Also, if you can't feel the contraction at all, you can't push as efficiently. Realize, though, that I never got to this stage, so I'm only speaking from what I've heard others say. The epidural ain't bad, especially if it takes well. I finally relented and had one, and it gave me a chance to rest just a wee bit. Plus, since I failed to progress, the epidural was already in place when they were ready to do the Csection on me, and all the doc had to do was turn up the juice on it. : ) --------------- p.s. i decided after our class that i aint gonna have this baby...mike can. this is gonna hurt. --------------- LMHO!!! This reminds me of when I took a tour of my hospital's maternity center... I was fine until they took us into a LDRP room that was set up for delivery... the bed had been folded up and there was this BUCKET contraption that unfolded from under the end of the bed... suddenly I felt a little queasy remembering years ago someone's description of birth as being as messy as a hog slaughter... it didn't mean anything to me at the time they said it, but seeing that bucket/basin/thingy brought it all back to me. I was most afraid of an episiotomy, so in a roundabout kind of way, I got my wish... and after having had major abdominal surgery, recovering from the Csection was incredibly breezy. I couldn't believe how good I felt, because I remember how AWFUL I felt after my WLS, and I will admit that I was a little afraid of a Csection because I thought it would be as bad as WLS had been. It wasn't. -Kris ______________________________________________ FREE Personalized Email at Mail.com Sign up at http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup
