Guest guest
Hi Dr, Carol, For fatigue try Cayenne Pepper in pill form, or you may have it as a spice in meals. Put a tablespoon of it in a cup with hot, or warm water and drink as much as you can. You will have energy to spare. I advise you not to drink Cayenne Pepper, or take in pill form after 5pm, or you may have problems falling asleep at bed time. To arrive at a clinical diagnosis for MS, it is necessary for a minimum of two exacerbation-remission cycles or their equivalent to have occurred. For fibromyalgia Brownwood Acres Red Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate(do a google search) is great for inflammation. Also avoid red meat as it causes inflammation. I hope you do well with LDN. If you're not on any high blood pressure meds Dr. Bihari recommends DL-Phenylalanine 500mg to be taken 2 to 3 times a day on an empty stomach to keep endorphins up throughout the day. Make sure it's the combo of DL-P, not L-P or D-P. To everyone who hasn't read the Further Q and A page on the LDN website please do so as it has valuable LDN information on that page. Guest guest
BOth black and tart cherry juices are helpful for inflammation, but FMS is not primarily an issue of inflammation. Magnesium deficiency and/or imbalance is a major player in the pain associated with FMS. Some folks can tolerate little to no DLPA. Their option would be l-Tyrosine. mjh"The Basil Book"http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/ For fibromyalgia Brownwood Acres Red Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate(do a google search) is great for inflammation. Guest guest
Very interesting stuff here - thanks to all who've been writing! I've actually taken Magnesium malate for about 7 years now and it's been the best thing I have done for help with the fibro (until now which I am hoping the LDN adds)! I also take flax seed oil for the omega 3's (has more O3's and less "burping" than fish oil - which can be offensive in my office - :-)). Thanks again, everyone! Guest guest
Dear MJH and , I have tremendous pain in my right arm from my shoulder to the back of my hand. I had a torn rotator cuff about five years ago, did physical therapy and it was fine. I have always had MS related weakness, loss of use of the right arm. I recently changed from Irmat pharmacy to the Prescription Lab here in Tucson. I am going back to Irmat to see if compounding is the issue. I can hardly write or use my right arm, even dressing is difficult. What is I-Tyrosine? I have high blood pressure so DLPA is not an option. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Guest guest
It is not true that flaxseed oil contains more omega 3s than fish oil. In fact, many people do not have the enzyme necessary to convert flaxseed oil into EPA. The DHA in fish oil is ciritically important for brain function. FIsh oil provides both EPA and DHA directly. If your find a bit of burping that unpleasant, buy the enteric coated fish oil caps. THey are available in the giant economy size at Sam's Club. Also, flaxseed oil is very fragile and gets rancid easily if not kept refrigerated. Read the work of Johanna Budwig, PhD, a great proponent of the use of flaxseed oil mixed with cottage cheese/yoghurt for many health issues. mjh"The Basil Book"http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/ I also take flax seed oil for the omega 3's (has moreO3's and less "burping" than fish oil - which can be offensive in my office- :-)). Guest guest
Hi Phil, Cayenne Pepper pills can be found at most drug stores, Meijer's, Walmart, etc.. I typically order mine along with the other supplements I take from www.PuritanPride.com. You can order online, by phone, or mail.
