Guest guest
" Live and learn. " Next time we won't polish off the whole thing at a sitting. lemon pie Bruce Bruce~ It's too bad you and your Dad had a bad experince with the pie. I like lemon too. I guess it proves not all people are the same, as some do not have the experience you two did.
Guest guest
According to the lable, it was very low in 'real' carbs (starches & sugars; remember, one doesn't count fiber and 'sugar alcohols'). And I didn't eat it all by myself. RE: lemon pie Bruce Okay--Now I'm really puzzled...YOU of all people ate all those carbs??????? I guess were all human and not so perfect with whatever " diet " we follow--eh, Bruce? Fawnee
Guest guest
It isn't a theory. It is a FACT that sugar alcohols are not absorbed by the body; we have the testimony of a listmember who is a chemist to that effect. Also, fiber is not absorbed, but passes right through; this is why people who are prone to constipation are told to eat more fiber. RE: lemon pie Bruce I don't " count " fiber and sugar alchohols---because as i said before--there isn't enough evidence to support the theories. IF it is real, then I believe one should count them all anyway, to create a buffer so as to not overeat carbs in general. Fawnee

And a fully sugered one at that. I just don't want to. I love citrus/sour things. We had a lemon tree in the back yard and I used to eat them like people eat oranges. ok, if a serving is 1/6 of a pie, then a pie is six servings. How can you eat 7 more servings when six is the whole pie? (That should have been just 2 extra or 3 total servings.)
