Guest guest
I'm very happy that some of you feel you can handle anything with God's help. However, there are members of the list who will not feel that way, and I do hope you will not say things to make them feel like failures because they disagree, or because they are finding their personal burdens a bit much to handle. Recently a study showed that optimistic attitudes didn't help people with certain cancers, and it imposed an extra burden to expect them to be optimistic. Some times the best thing we can do is allow someone to feel their pain, not try to take it away from them, feel it ourselves, or dismiss it with optimism. Statements about your own experience are one thing. But making statements about others and their relationship to God, or their way of handling their problems, are probably not helpful. " I don't think that is the point that was made at all. No one is saying to be fake or " act like " you are hopeful... but the opposite really... to come to rest in the arms of a very loving GOD who will give you hope. He is the God of all hope and comfort and gets us through those situations that it are impossible for us to get through alone. Anyway, that is what I got out of what Debi said. The Bible says that God is a refuge and a very present HOPE in time of need... and I think that is something worth sharing. Guest guest
Nope- not dismissing just respecting your right to free speech, among other amendments. But truly I am not interested in your belief systems. That's my right. Since this is a diabetes list, and this is OT, I think I am well within my boundaries to dismiss the comments for what they are- off topic- and ignore them if I don't find them appropriate or interesting. Which is why I am ending my own off topic comments! LOL. Regards- and I am glad good things have happened for you. > > >You Christians can chat. I'll just wait. Not a problem.
