Guest guest
Hi Tom I see that you have some suggesstions for treating clitoral nerve pain. I too have suffered with VV for about 3 years and have recently had a horrible flare up. Last month I started getting clitoral nerve pain. I don't have any back problems and no sciatica that I am aware of. I am seeing a PT that also said my pelvic floor muscles appear to be great... The only thing I have noticed since it happenned today is that when I am at the gym and I was doing the eliptical machine with arm movement about 2 minutes into working out I had such severe shooting nerve pain into my clitoral region and my legs that I stopped. Any suggesstions. I am doing specfic stretches that the PT gave me but this is the worst thing I have ever felt... I imagine almost like sciatic pain. Guest guest
HI , My suggestions were more for back, disk pain if you are referring to the last post I made to ? Anyway, An over developed or hyper-tonic psoas muscle can clamp down on the Genito-femoral nerve as the nerve runs right through it and it does supply the clitoris as well as some of the groin / upper thigh surrounding area. Ask your PT to palpate the psoas on each side and see if it is TRIGGERED or reproduces pain into the clitoris or upper inner thigh. As an experiment: Try using the elyptical in the backwards direction, using more of the gluteus and less of the hip flexor. Other suggestions: Stop all sit ups or leg lifts. See if your therapist knows the strain counterstrain for the psoas ( there are 5) Muscle Energy Techniques can also be helpful to reduce tension and tone in the psoas. Deep tissue strumming on the psoas will be tender at first but will relax soon and you can be taught self techniques on the psoas. Let me know how you make out!!!
