I eat more now than when I was diagnosed, but spread it out over all day, rather than eating 2 meals. hugs Eunice

My husband's Dr. told him to eat whatever he wants but to cut his portions in half. He's doing better but I don't know if we'll ever reach that goal, ha, ha. Guest guest
I tend to eat really light for breakfast sice I'm generally not overly hungry at that time and eating anything substantial too early will make me sick. (Always been like that since I was very small) I've been experimenting with various things and so far none of these seem to make my BG spike. I've tried: a. cottage cheese and a small piece of fruit (any kind) b.1-2 scrambled eggs (depending on how hungry I am) with a little bit of cheese (not even the full serving size); maybe a pinch of Bacos on top if I feel like I want them; sometimes also add 1 slice whole wheat toast to this with a tiny dot of butter if I'm really hungry c. yogurt with fruit and a sourdough english muffin w/ garlic cream cheese (fruit flavored when I have other fruit for breakfast is too much fruit sugar in one meal I found out... that WILL make the BG go up); sometimes a single serving of cereal of some sort and milk instead of the muffin... depends on mood d. 2 packets regular Quaker instant oatmeal with cinnamon, Splenda and skim milk plus one banana or other piece of fruit I'm trying to findway to vary breakfast so I don't get bored and quit eating it. The nurse I saw for my eval said that I could probably get away with only eating once or twice a day. That flabbergasted me! Since when do they recommend anyone do that?! Doing that will actually make your body GAIN weaight because it thinks you aren't eating enough and have to concerve every bit of what ou eat. 0-0! Duuuuh! The better advice would have been to tell me to eat small meals spread through the day (which I already do for the most part). That whole famine/feast cycle is a big problem for a lot of overweight people. They're confusing their bodies with mixed signals and it doesn't know what to do. Aazari The Art of Jolie E. Guest guest
I have a couple of breakfast ideas. I'm not a real big breakfast eater but I always eat something. I sometimes eat a piece of 2 of the low carb bread with peanut butter on it with a small glass of milk. Another thing I like is a container of yogurt with about 2 Tablespoons of grapenuts mixed in. Something I discovered recently is a new instant oatmeal with 50 % less sugar. I tried an envelope of it and it didn't make my numbers any higher htan the toast or yogurt so it must have been ok for me. I didn't eat anything else with it either though....no fruit or anything.
