Guest guest
Ken, with all due respect, I hate to refer to gh shots as traumatic. Yes, they are uncomfortable. Yes, it is really, really hard to inject your child for the first few times. Yes, your child will cry at first. But we have always been very open and honest with Max. We told him that these shots were supposed to help him grow taller. We told him that we did not like doing it. We told him he had no choice, too. And we also made Max become involved. At first, he was too young to inject himself. We had him wipe his leg, though. And he got to inject his stuffed animals. When he was old enough, we got an Injectease which is a contraption that " shoots " the syringe at the press of a button. Max does that himself. If we could trust him, we would let him measure the injections, too. Honestly, I believe that the trauma, if you want to use that word, was for us, the parents. We began to inject something " foreign " into his body. We have adjusted, however, and Max cannot go to sleep anymore without making sure he has had his shot. For whatever it is worth, that is my opinion. I don't mean to sound rude. I just want to help you feel more comfortable with this. It sure is hard being a parent, isn't it?
