He said there does not have to be pain . . . to cause disruption by overeating. Anytime you eat to fullness, and feel full, perhaps eating until you are just a little uncomfortable, you are stretching out the pouch AND stressing the stapleline. He said that he rarely sees stapleline disruptions and he has done over 1,000 RNYs open proximals. Maybe its the 4 rows of titanium staples? Regardless, I try to make sure I never eat to fullness. If I ever disrupt it will prove it can just happen without overfilling the pouch . . . I too never vomit or anything. Vicki in CA
Guest guest
I've met TWO people in all these years who will swear to you they both out ate it. They insist that they ate until past pain. They're both guys, both say they are stubborn and proud of it. But aside from that, of all the other SLD I've seen, most of us are law abiding citizens who would no more " eat til it bursts " than we would cut ourselves or inflict other pain or destruction. But pouches do stretch. They're supposed to. Just not til goal wt is reached. And some post-op nutrition plans practically FORCE you to stretch the pouch prematurely. So, even then, it's not really a " fault " issue, just like the morbid obesity never was. Thanks, www.vitalady.com
