Guest guest Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Hi Mike, What a GREAT milestone you have come across... that is fantastic... Congratulations... I am rooting for you for the next. I start my 2 mile walks again tomorrow... I love losing this weight... amazing how much of life I was missing out on. Shauna Mike wrote: You might remember a few weeks ago I wrote how I managed to walk up Fountain Street's hill in downtown Grand Rapids. It's a street I frequently walk with my kids and had never been able to get up without at least one pit stop. Well today we walked down to Festival http://www.festivalofthearts.org, walked around a lot in Festival and then proceeded to walk back up Lyon Street's hill (runs parallel to Fountain but is a bit steeper and seems longer). No pit stops. I was only breathing a little heavy at the end too and was able to actaully regain my breath/composer as we finished the walk to my house. Amazing. The final trial will be some day to try Michigan Street hill (parallel to the other two again). I'm not sure what the grade on that sucker is but I'll bet it's about 40 degrees and it's a good half mile long. I'll get it in this summer for sure. Hope you're all having a great weekend!
