RESEARCH participants needed for Vulvodynia studies

Dr. Goldstein posted at another group with the following comment which I think

could possibly be related to his study.

" 3) Venlafaxine: Dr. Wasserman and I were awarded a large

grant from the NVA (national vulvodynia association) to do a study

of this medication for DV. We have had excellent results with

Venlafaxine and are very excited about this study. I expect that we

will start enrolling patients in our study in May 2004. "

I looked up venlaxafine. it's nothing new, simple effexor...

That is true but since it is an anti-depressant, perhaps it has not been readily

prescribed by doctors for pain, particularly vulvar pain. Sometimes drugs are

not necessarily approved for conditions for which they are being used.
