The liver stores glucose. When the body anticipates a need for energy (e.g.

first thing in the morning, a flight-or-fight situation) it releases a lot of

glucose into the bloodstream; this is called a 'dump.' For 'normies', the

pancreas responds by producing more insulin; alas, that does not work with us.

Yeah, basically, when you wake up in the morning, your body does all

sorts of things to change over from asleep to awake. It does all sorts

of things to wake you up. Its like starting your car with an atomic

reactor after letting it sit over night.
