I'm only one month out from surgery, but I've heard that most insurance

companies will cover reconstructive surgery on the " apron " (the lower

abdomen) and the thighs. I haven't checked with my insurance but how did

you get your insurance company to cover everything?

I'm sorry I used the word " plastic " surgery instead of reconstruction

surgery. I thought more people would read the post if I used the term

plastic.

Anway, I have had my breasts lifted, arms done, and a 360 degree abdominal

lipectomy. For those of you that don't know that that is, I will explain..

The doctor cut around the back of my waist, smoothed out my back and lifted

the butt. She then continued to the front, running along the pubic line and

straight up by my breastbone. So in one procedure I had my stomach,

abdomin, butt and back taken care of. She removed 11 pounds of excess

skin.. My breasts and arms were done at the same time. I had incisions

starting at my elbow, running deep into my armpit, across my sides, under my

breast and around my aerole. My insurance paid for everything. Out of all

the reconstruction, the most painful part by far was my arms. I still have

my thighs and calves to do. I needed to take a break from surgery.

If anyone is heading for reconstructive surgery, I would be more than

happy to discuss my journey in further detail.
