I signed up with this group on friday, a friend recommended......I did a posting.....with no direct responses to me......but 240 e-mails by today....sunday !! Most seem like personal e-mail to a particular person.....is this how an e-group works........I admit it ....I am a virgin e-grouper ! Am I doing something wrong ? Many of the posts are indeed direct answers to others that they have come to know but some are really of general interest. I have a couple of suggestions. Clearly the volume here is excessive when you get the individual e-mails. I would suggest either of two alternatives. First you can get the list in digest form. Every time about 25 messages build up you will get a digest where all 25 are listed one after the other. You can page through them much more quickly passing on the ones that aren't of interest to you much more easily than with individual e-mails. The other suggestion is what they call no-mail. There you go to the e-groups web site and read each message, picking the ones you want to read by their subject line and skipping the others. I use the no-mail method. It might be a good idea to try each and see which works best for you. To change to either of those options, go to www.. From there click on " My Groups " at the top of the page. On the right of the list of the groups you belong to will be a column of delivery options. It will say e-mail. Click on it and change it to either no-mail or digest. Then click on okay or whatever it is at the bottom and wait for it to take. It's a good idea to then leave the site and then come back and see if it took. It often doesn't. Hope that helps a bit.
