I get a real jones for sugar I keep all kinds of sugar free jello made up in the fridge and have some about once a day with some whipped cream that I make myself with splenda added to it. It's GREAT! I bake an apple with splenda, cinnamon and a couple of walnuts sprinkled on it and that tastes a lot like apple pie when it comes out. I also take pumpkin and add pumpkin pie spice, some eggbeaters and splenda and bake it... It's like pumpkin pie without the crust or fat or sugar. I can eat a small piece and do fine with my bgs... and really that is all it takes to squelch the sweet craving. Last... one thing I have learned and I hate to do this one because it doesn't involve eating something to help the craving so it isn't as fun... but it has worked several times. I drink a large glass of water and wait 30 minutes and usually the craving will pass. In fact, I don't remember ever doing this that it didn't work. However, sometimes the above options are a little more fun. Shirley Jean
Guest guest
Try having a cup of sugar-free hot chocolate with a bit of cool whip - sweet and very satisfying. Or try this: two tablespoons of cream cheese, a bit of vanilla flavoring, and a packet of spenda - put in the mic for about 15 seconds, then stir and eat. Tastes kind of like cheesecake, but very low carb.. mmmmm. Or, make some popcorn - not sweet, but it works for me! Jacki
Guest guest
For my body, I crave sugar when my blood glucose is high. It seems that simply getting my level down, usually through refraining from carbs and excercise, helps my cravings lessen. HTH, Debi > Hi. > I am a type 2 diabetic. I have been doing pretty well controling my blood sugar but lately I get these incredible sugar cravings. I can > go all day and be fine but then BAM! I get a real jones for sugar. THis is realy driving me crazy and it is not helping with the blood > sugar levels at all. Any sugestions?
