Guest guest Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I am just wondering if anyone else has had screws put in to hold a bone together, and if so, has anyone had the screws work their way loose? I broke a bone in my hand, lengthwise, 3 yrs ago, and had to have plates and screws to hold it together so it could heal. They are still there, but lately I have noticed a knot on my wrist about where the screws are , it is sore and hurts to bump it. I am just wondering if it is possible that the screws are working their way loose, anyone else had this happen? Quote

Guest guest Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 I have screws and pins in both feet and have had them in for about 15 years. My feet used to hurt where the screw was at but nothing more than that. They never felt like they were coming loose or coming out. Sorry, that probably doesn't help you much. An x-ray or something would be able to tell ya. Guest guest Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Thanks everyone for your answers. I saw my Chiro today, and he sent me for an x-ray. He does think maybe that it is a cyst tho, but possibly that the screw is loose too. Will find out tomorrow or the next day. He does think maybe that it is a cyst tho, but possibly that the screw is loose too. Will find out tomorrow or the next day. Another thing, my Chiro said that he has something that (a natural remedy) helps some fibro paitents. He said he would bring it to town (he has two offices, and it is at the other one) on Thursday when he comes back here, and let me try it for a month. If it works, I pay him, if it doesn't help me, then I owe him nothing. So how can I loose, I am willing to try this. I will let you know. Guest guest Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I haven't had it happen, but know a couple of folks who have had it happen, and had the screws and plate removed. Did fine afterwards.RiverPeggyb wrote: I am just wondering if anyone else has had screws put in to hold a bonetogether, and if so, has anyone had the screws work their way loose?
