Guest guest
Thanks EVERYONE who responded to my post about tips for eating slowly. I also think that 8oz per meal is WAY too much at 2 weeks out. I am never ever hungry, and because I have been eating soooooo slowly I never feel full either, so what is the point of such a big meal? I am also terrified of stretching out my pouch. To those of you who asked if I misunderstood my doctor, the answer is unfortunately no. I got a huge packet with detailed instructions. At two weeks out we are supposed to go to a pureed diet and have 2 servings of fruit (1/2 cup per serving - 8 oz total), 2 servings of veggies (1/2 cup per serving - 8 oz total), 1 & 1/2 cups of milk (12 oz), 1/2 cup of starch (4 oz), 2 teaspoons of fat and 6 oz of protein (by weight) daily. By my calculations, that's 38 ounces of food daily!!!! The hospital I went to (Baystate Medical in Massachusetts) has a wls support group meeting tommorow, I am going to raise this topic and see what the group has to say, I'll let you know. - Suzanne
