Guest guest
In the U.S. you would find more information in a library than on the Internet. Strangely there isn't a whole lot of good stuff on the Internet for diabetes. People ahve sent me about two good web sites over the weeks I've not had time to check out - my browser can't open from e-mail - can people maybe reproduce them for her? If I find them I will repost; I probably saved both of them. In Saudi Arabia, as a woman, diabetes is probably the least of your problems. You're lucky you found a doctor who would see you! Not hard to understand how you got to be obese, living in a country where a woman isn't allowed outside unless wearing a tent and the temperature is always 110. And you aren't allowed to drive. My initial reaction was to think you ran into a typical American doctor, before I saw teh Saudi Arabia part. Two years ago the medical wisdom that was going around about diabetes was you didn't even have to worry about diet. I think that may be swing back - but it is part of why it is hard to find advice on diet on the Internet. Books would be more helpful. Do you think your family can send you any? Guest guest
I'm finding that all kinds of books, many of them very basic, provide tons of information that I haven't been able to find on the web. I am a person who actually wants information - and that is what I understood she is asking for. For instance, the ADA web site does not provide my definition of information. It does not provide my idea of what one would teach to a first grader with diabetes. I don't know what advantage their being on tape would be ... did our poster mention a visual handicap that I missed? Yours, Dora Austin, Texas villandra@... And not all books are on tape. Gee! How did ya know? Actually, I can see fairly well now but am prone to reoccurring bouts of optical neuritis. I feel like a living yo-yo...yo-yo glucose, yoyo-vision...sigh. Dya think this will be aggravated by diabetes?
Guest guest
Nadia, Is it easy for you to read print, or do you need information on tape? Visual and mobility handicaps would limit anyone's search for information. Dora Re: stuck in a lost civilization >> > Doesn't make a diff...my vision won't allow it. Guest guest
I developed floaters while preg with Dinah. This was when my gestational was at its worse, and I'm almost certain I was mildly type 2 prior to getting preg with her. I have wondered what impact, if any, the diabetes might have with the floaters. Debi > Gee! How did ya know?
