Type 1 diabetes is rooted in the pancreas not being able to produce

insulin.

Type 1 diabetes is an auto-immune disease where the person (not just children

get type 1) gets a viral infection or is exposed to other " triggers " in the

environment and then their own immune system begins attacking and killing all

of the islet cells (the cells that produce insulin) in the pancreas. This

process takes months (in some years) from onset to actually developing the

disease.

But surely This is only for type 1.......

What causes diabetes is the malfunctioning of the Pancrease--regarless if I am

right or not.

Excess glucose is turned into glucogen which is stored as fat in your body.

That is how the body stores energy to be ready for a crisis. Like the liver

dumping...The liver takes the glucogen/fat and turns it into glucose, so the

insulin can open the receptors of the cell for utilization.

No, this isn't only for type one. Because the pancreas has been " over "

producing insulin in type two people, either the body doesn't use it, or

there isn't quite enough produced. There are insulin dependant type twos...
