Vickie welcome, I'm a newbee too, did you read Dr. Hess's notes on

BPD/DS, Its at the www.duodenalswitch.com site, click on procedures, and go

to the I think the third paragraph, that shows, Dr. Hess Patient Brochure,

its hi-lighted ,its about 22 pages, but he shows the difference between Rny

and Ds, It really helped me, if you haven't looked yet check it out. Some

one mentioned it in one of the postings I read, and I was so thankful to

find it. It really helps.

Hope this helps you some, and from one newbee to another, welcome, and good

luck.

:) have a smile on me!!

Hi Vickie,

Welcome first of all. I began " lurking " a few months ago myself. I

am having my BPD/DS (Duoedenal Switch) with Dr. Herron next Friday

and can't wait. This surgery (any of them) is not for everyone, but

it sure seems like a miracle to me!!!! Do tons of reading and check

out every aspect of these wonderful sites. If I can help in anyway,

I would be happy to. Where are you from?? Me...in the Phila. area.

36 yrs. old

BMI 52

PS. A friend I met thru this site just had her surgery w/Dr. Herron

and I am pretty sure she had the same insurance as you. Good Luck!

I am in the Phila. area out in Exton. I have seen on the AMOS site

that Dr Herron has done some surgeries with my insurance. But my

insurance has a statement that says it only covers RYI, so I'll have

to ask the Dr about how he managed it.

Hi Vickie,

Boy I was the same way. I lived at this computer. I don't know how I would

Hi Vicki - welcome out of lurkdom. You'll find this group to be wonderful,

fun, silly and supportive. I'm a pre-op too. I had my consult last week

with Dr in Marietta, GA. Where do you live? isn't Heidi's site

awesome? I found it early on in my research too - it answered questions I

didn't even know I had. Sending happy thoughts and warm wishes....denise W
