Guest guest
Ken, Oh yes, I know where Mercer Island is. Used to take the Mercer Island bridge on occasion to get from I-5 to I-405 whenever there was a backup (due to accidents) on the Evergreen Point bridge. I lived in Seattle near the U-District for about four years, back in the early 80's. Worked in Redmond for GTE back then. I live in Florida now, can't even get my husband to go visit Seattle with me. He thinks it rains 24/7/365 there. I can't convince him otherwise. I loved waking up to the sight of Mt. Rainier. Sure aren't any mountains in Florida nor anything like the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. Ah, memories... By the way Ken, what's a " Weather Bug " ? I've never heard of it before. Myla > Wow! That's hot! Right now its 3:30 pm here in Bellevue and my Weather Bug > says its 102 degrees here on Mercer Island, Washington. For those who don't > know this is between Bellevue and Seattle. > > Ken
Guest guest
We've actually had very little rain this summer....I sure wish I could've somehow plopped your husband down right in the middle of Seattle for the past week or so. That would change his view of Seattle in a hurry! LOL! The heat has made it difficult to manage my diabetes. It gets too hot I don t feel like eating. I don't feel like eating bg's go too low. At least I haven't had lows low enough to end up at the hospital or doctor. Weather Bug is a little program you can configure to always give you the daily and weekly forcast for your area. You can check it out at weatherbug com. I've noticed the Weather Channel has something similar now and some of our local News Stations too. Ken -- Re: coping in HEAT! Guest guest
Thanks Ken, I'll check out that web site for the weather bug. I have friends who still live up near Everett, bet they are melting in that heat too. Do you eat yogurt? I put fresh blueberries in my yogurt and then freeze it, makes for a cold treat on a hot day. If I remember correctly the Yakima valley produced huge blueberries out there in Washington State. Yum! I think everyone's appetite goes down whenever the temperatures go up. I eat lots of fresh/raw food in the summer. I hate to heat up the house with the oven or stove so I use the microwave a lot to cook chicken, especially if I just plan to cool it and slice it up to go into salads. Keep those blood sugars up, we don't want you ending up in the hospital. Be safe, Myla > > Weather Bug is a little program you can configure to always give you the > daily and weekly forcast for your area. You can check it out at weatherbug > com.
