Guest guest
Just another question for you all. I am due to have our second son any day now and I've been given the option of collecting his cord blood for future use. I have heard a lot about the benefits of cord blood (stem cells) in treatment of many cancers and other diseases....but especially in the promising treatment of spinal cord injuries. I'm hoping one day that they will be able to possibly use it for Brenden to actually fix his spine. But that's a long ways off I'm sure. I'm wondering if any of you have heard of this, done this yourselves, or know of any reading materials on it. Everything I've read so far has come from the companies that offer the service...so they aren't very objective. I've already signed up to have this done..but we can cancel if we change our minds. I'd just like to read something objective about it. Thanks Lawliss mom of Brenden, 2 years, SB (L4/L5), Hydro (3rd Ventriculostomy, VP shunt), 2 revisions (17 months, 18.5 months), Bilateral Clubfeet (AFO's), Chiari II Malformation (Decompression and C1/C2 Laminectomy - 1/99; 2nd decompression for restenosis 3-01), partial ACC, Syringomyelia (syrinx from C6 to base of spine)
