Although each day seems to drag (especially staring at my living room walls all day), it is amazing how fast a week has flown by, and I thank God for that. I am going to try to go back to work tomorrow, because I feel the need to interact with other people. I am a dental assistant. While I know I will be constantly thinking about what has gone on in the last few weeks, I have to go on with regular life. I can't seem to get out of pajamas, and it is such a strange feeling to know the world is still revolving and I feel like I am not in it. So, hopefully, working tomorrow will make me feel a little better. You girls are really great. While I have received lots of phone calls and visitors who have shared with me their losses of miscarriage, I am the only one I know who has had an ectopic, and hearing all of you and your stories are making such an impact on me. I can't wait to rush to the computer to read more, and your words are so comforting. I have also added a long list of all of you to my prayers, and know that I am thinking of all of you and your families. I finally had the chance to be alone with my husband last night to talk, and I know he understands, and I made him know that I do not want him to change the subject when I need to talk, and when I want to laugh I will, that he doesn't need to try to make a joke or something. I think he realizes that now. I also found a church in Manhattan (I live in the Bronx and am Catholic, so this finding was very uplifting) that has a shrine and memorial for the unborn, which I added our child to. Probably a month ago I would have thought that was very morbid, but funny how an experience can change your views unbelievably. I've been reading from the EP website, and its all helping me. I am glad you were able ti find the group but of course ever so sorry had you had the need to. My EP was in July, 2000. Sometimes it feels like a years ago and other times it feels like yesterday. I had surgery and lost my right tube, so I had to take four weeks off work. I HATED that as I am a serious workaholic and felt like as soon as I could get back to work the better. I was lucky that my surgery was 2 weeks before Christmas, so I was able to busy myself with decorating, wrapping gifts, etc. You'll be amazed when you start talking to patients, at how many share similar experiences. Before I was married I worked as a controller (accountant), now I do microderm in a dermatologist office (my dh is happier this way). It's been very therapeutic to talk to my patients, some are counselors, others have gone through IVF - but all are very understanding. I'm also Catholic, but have been unable to find a local church with any type of shrine for unborn children. How close are you to Manhattan? Also, in Feb there is a mass at a church in Queens for couples having fertility problems. I am thinking I want to go, but DH does not... lisa r T.T.F.N. I am going to forward the address of that church, so anyone who is wondering about it can look. And it is true about work, going back was a good idea, although last night I came home both physically and mentally drained. Good thing I have the weekend off, and I don't go back until Monday.
