Guest guest
Hi Tami, could you tell me what issue of woman's world you saw the article in and what was it titled. i need to lose 20 more lbs and am having a hard go of it. Id really appreciate it. To all that have had your surgery i am very happy for you and keep your chins up cause soon they wont be doubled ) <<< Memo from TeeleeQ1@...@Internet on 05 February, 2003, 10:54 Wednesday >>> TeeleeQ1@...@Internet on 5 Feb 2003, 10:54 Wednesday Please respond to gastric-bypass-support-kaiser-patients @Internet To: gastric-bypass-support-kaiser-patients cc: (bcc: Leaks) Subject: Approved all over again Hey all! I just heard spoke with from SSF, she says that my paperwork was sent out to Pacific Bariatrics Monday and I will be hearing from them sometime. I had initially wanted PB but had come to be pleased with the idea of SSF and then got a little excited about Richmond since it is closer to home and family. I asked for Richmond but was told that they choose their own people. I will be going to San Diego. Now I am very happy that I have read all the posts about PB on this site. I hope that I receive notice fairly soon. She did say that they have backlog though. I guess I am feeling a little bummed by the fact that they just sent my paperwork in. I know that means that I will be waiting and waiting as I already have. I received my approval the first week of October and it took this long to hear anything. I am definitely bummed about that. On a happy note. I am down 70 pounds since Sept., having lost 10.6 just this last week. I had seen an article in Woman's World and I tried it. It really worked for me. Yippee! Hope I can continue to make it work. Tami 449/379/? Guest guest
Tami, Go to www.pacificbariatrics.com and find out when the next PB seminar is in your area...and go to it!! That will really help speed things up, especially since you've already been approved. The ball doesn't start rolling until you actually go to the seminar. They will eventually tell you that, but I'd go ASAP. Then you can get the lab and ultrasound out of the way quickly, too. Complete their paperwork immediately and *fax* it to them. Don't be discouraged! Things will move pretty quickly from here on out. I got my approval in early November, went to the seminar in January (they didn't have one in December and I didn't know I had to go to one, or I would have gone in November). I have my marathon day of appointments next Tuesday, and then surgery 6-8 weeks after that. Laurie W. Approved all over again Hey all! Guest guest
In regards to the gallbadder test. When I went through my process and saw the surgeon I didn't have to have a gallbladder test. Dr Legha told me that all he would do when he was operating he would feel my gallbadder to check it for stones if there were any it would be removed. I was lucky it was OK. So that could be why your doctor didn't request the test. I can't say if it is something that PB requires or not because I went through Kaiser. ramona

Guest guest
PB definitely requires it. ;-))))) It might be because they have to request authorization to remove the gallbladder, whereas Kaiser, of course, would not.
