Guest guest
Per our recruiter... Base pay for paramedics is just over $38,000 ($38,089 if you want an exact figure). There is built-in overtime, the amount of which varies depending upon the use of sick and vacation time. The average medic can expect the base + built in OT to come to about $41,000 annually. Of course, that amount will go up if the individual works additional OT above what is built in to the regular schedule. There are also stipends for certain skill blocks such as FTO, special operations, and bilingual skill. There is no difference in pay for licensed versus certified. Besides pay, there are plenty of other benefits (sick, vacation, tuition reimbursement, medical, etc.). If you are interested I suggest you call the recruiter at . Guest guest
www.austinems.com There's a whole section on recruiting. And from what I understand, A/TC EMS looks for people with initiative. Maybe you ought to get searching. Guest guest
it works out to 13 or 14 per hour depending on how long you've been here. it gets real complicated real fast past that. if you really want to know the specifics, go to www.atcemsea.org <http://www.atcemsea.org/> and download the timesheet excel spreadsheet. it figures out our pay based on productive times vs non-productive time, overtime, etc. Re: Atcems pay So that makes it how much an hour? on the 31-03-2003 9.32 am Miss/Ms/Mrs./Mr. ed.strout@... composed the follow from ed.strout@... to : > Per our recruiter... > > Base pay for paramedics is just over $38,000 ($38,089 if you want an exact > figure). Guest guest
A girl from the Honor Guard at NWVFD told me that they started out where you didnt go to the station until a call came in, and you got a base pay plus 25 dollars per call. So if you went on 4 calls, you got 100 bucks plus base pay for each hour spent responding, and cleaning up after the call. Yours seems interesting too..I have never heard of " productive time v. non-productive time " ...is that really legal? Just curious, chinese overtime is legal, for some managers, somehow. I think it bites. Guest guest
" Productive " time refers to time spent physically at work. " Non-productive " time refers to benefit time used (vacation or sick). Overtime is paid based upon an individual being physically at work (productive time), so if someone works an additional 24 hr. shift in the same OT pay period that he uses 24 hrs. of vacation non-productive time), he will be paid the extra hours at straight time rather than at overtime rates. Guest guest
Issuing paychecks on the first and fifteenth can be " sliced " a lot of ways. The day on which an employer issues paychecks can be independent of the days/dates that are getting paid in a check. In other words, if the work period is 8th through 21st gets paid on the first, and 22nd through 7th gets paid on the 15th, your 100 hours in two weeks (was that a Sunday to Saturday?) might not have fallen on the pay schedule the way you thought it might. I've had (salaried) jobs where the boss paid on the Friday after the 15th and last day of the month. That ended up being the most confusing schedule ever, because if the first was a Friday, he'd have to delay it a bit so he could compute the paychecks (I argued on this detail). In all reality, my first job out of college was probably the simplest: payday was the 15th, or the Friday before if the 15th was a weekend or holiday. Regardless, I personally believe that you should inquire about the pay schedule and system up front (during the interview), and be sure you understand it before you accept the position. I work a desk job, and I've learned (the hard way) to ask if I would have a desk, a chair, a phone, and a computer. Likewise, in EMS it's probably smart to ask what their ambulance replacement schedule is and so forth. RE: Atcems pay One rat I worked for payed on the 1st and the 15th of the month. In a two week period I put in 100 hrs, and somehow he snaked me out of ANY overtime, due to the way the pay schedule was set up. He explained it, but I still dont understand. If Im not mistaken, the Law is quite clear, " any hours worked that exceed 40, in a seven day period, are to be paid at time and a half. " ergo....I should have had 20 hours overtime no matter how you slice it. But this happened.

Guest guest
Sick leave may be earned, however it is not a requirement to provide such coverage. It is a benefit and not an entitlement. Many companies, depending on the size are required to provide a family medical leave under certain circumstances, however it is an unpaid leave.
