Guest guest Posted December 11, 2001 Report Share Posted December 11, 2001 Fellow Resurfers, I don't want to make a habit out of posting this sort of request to surfacehippy, but in consideration for the effort I put into the site, I hope you will indulge me if I ask your help with a friend's project. is a friend from my high school days who, like many of us, has struggled with orthopedic problems and is now looking to get back into shape after surgery -- knee ligament repair in her case. She has set a goal of walking in the Half-Marathon in the New Orleans in February, 2002 and will do so as a part of a fund raising effort for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In return they are helping her in her training as part of a program they call Team in Training. She had worked in the chemotherapy unit at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee while going to nursing school and saw many children with leukemia for whom there were limited solutions, so she has seen the need for cures first hand and really believes in this cause.
