Guest guest Posted December 4, 2001 Report Share Posted December 4, 2001 Well finally some good news, today I went for my blood test and scan to test for how many follicles have developed (IVF). I have 4 really good sized follicles and several not so good. I am scheduled for egg pick up on Friday 7th December. I know this is just one hurdle and alot to go yet... and the best news also is that my lining measured 7.2mm - WOW - I have gone from 3.1mm in May to 4mm in October and now 7.2mm in December. Obviously because of the IVF drugs - therefore if our linings are thin, why don't the DR's prescribe the drugs for IVF to thicken up our linings anyway? (I'm sure someone in this group will come up with a logical answer for that ). On Saturday 8th Dec the fertility scientist will call me at home at 11am to confirm that the egg and sperm are getting on well (I'm sure there is a better way of putting that) and if so, I will be booked in for transfer on Monday - I might get my Christmas wish after all. However, I am only too familiar with bad news from Doctors, so I hope from now on its good news. Its great to be able to share this with all of you. I was worried they were going to " cancel " your retrieval because you had " only " 4 follicles! Ridiculous! So glad things have turned around. And that is WONDERFUL news about your lining improvement! Simply marvelous! I wish you the best of luck and will be sending lots of fertilization vibes your way!! Take care.
