> Anyone have any news on how the new overtime rules may (or may

not) affect dispatchers? I realize " Police, Firefighters and EMT's "

are exempt... but working for an independent municipal 911 dispatch

center, I don't fall into any of those categories.

It doesn't override your current labor agreement, provided you

have one. Ours dictates that anything more than 8 hours in a day

or more than 40 hours a week is time and a half. Double time

applies once we've worked more than 8 consecutive hours of overtime

or on the 13 borough holidays. We do get a minimum of 3 hours for

callouts.
