I took to heart all your comments and I am so appreciative of your wisdom. YOU GUYS ARE SO AWESOME--TRULY THE MOST COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD-!! Thankyou--you make getting through this whole journey much more pleasant!!!Yes, the scar I will receive will be nothing in comparison to being pain free. If I had a choice between pain and no scar or a scar and no pain--I would definately go for a scar. It looks like the resurfcing scars are anywhere from 7 inches long to 12 inches long depending on the surgeon. It also seems that some surgeons use staples or stitches and others use hidden stitches so that only a thin line is visible. At any rate it is something to talk to the surgeon about. I liked the comment regarding the size of the scar may be dependent on the size of the surgeons hands. Dr. Schmalzried is a big man (at least 6'5 " tall)!!!
