Hi everyone. , your friend sounds like he is " just what the doctor

ordered " . Seriously, I'm sure he will be a great help to many of us, & I hope

in return, we can further his proficiency in treating his patients with this

disease. It sounds like a win/win situation with no downside.

I think that is a great idea! The more medical knowledge we can get, the

better. Besides, isn't he the same Dr Gioe you were telling me about in

Mississippi?

I don't know about the rest of the group, but I think that this will be a big

plus to our group. As long as he doesn't become arrogant and " all-knowing "

in his answers as some doctors are prone to get.

That's just one man's humble opinion.

Becky, Andre', all,

Being stuck in " angry " is a very unhealthy place to be stuck in even though

it is a justifiable feeling for everything that we have gone through with

this disease as well as any other associated illnesses and problems we

encounter as a result of it. Moving on is important, however it is important

to find an appropriate outlet for releasing your anger where it does not spew

over onto others is also crucial. Unexpressed anger does lead to many other

health related illnesses as well as keeping us from moving on with our life.

Some of the ways to express appropriate release of anger is through

journaling, prayer, meditation, talking with someone you can trust while

focusing on solutions instead of the problem, physical exercise, etc. There

are many others and perhaps others can talk about how they have been able to

appropriately release their anger without hurting themselves or others in the

process.

Becky,

Having the abnormal blood work does definitely indicate that there is a

problem and you are right to continue to be assertive in your attempts to

find out what is wrong with you. Just don't let the anger become so intense

and unresolved that you create additional problems for yourself. Find

someway to deal with your anger and move on. Continue to fight for a

diagnosis!!!!

<< Becky,

Just a quick pat on the back for you in your convictions & refusal to

pop some pills to make the md feel better. I went thru a similar bout with 3

different doctors until I was finally diagnosed. I ripped up a prescription

in front of the doctor-- & he was NOT happy! I am now seeing a psychologist

because I want to deal with this situation the best way possible-- & to get

rid of the anger I had towards those md's who just insisted I was suffering

from " deep underlying depression. " I asked the psych. if she thought I was

suffering from depression & needed medication. Absolutely not, was her

response, although she did say that she was sure that it would only be normal

to feel depressed considering what all I had been through. The point is that

I would have taken medication if she thought I needed it, but why put

something into my body that isn't needed?! Stick to your guns, Becky. Good

luck at Mayo. You DO, indeed, sound like a very stable, happy & lucky lady

(other than the health issue, of course!). Take care, Cheryl >>

Good advise Cheryl!!!!!!!!!

,

I think it would be great to get a knowledgeable doctor involved as long as

they are open to hearing our concerns and feelings about the experiences we

have had. A doctor could be very beneficial in guiding us to ask the right

questions and in seeking the appropriate treatment.
