Guest guest
We use part time. Had 2 positions but now only 1. They went thru the exact training full timers did only longer due to their shorter work hours. Guest guest
We just let one Dispatcher come back part time after having a baby...she was already trained, so we didn't have that issue. We did have to have the Dispatchers " OK " a part time person through their Union, though. The part timer is LAST to be called for overtime, only if no one else can be reached. The part timer cannot be used to AVOID paying overtime. She has a set schedule. 7a to 2p 20 hours a week. If so, is the training for them different than what you normally do?? > > > Bill > >
Guest guest
We have part timers and they are trained full time hours during training, getting the same exact training that full time dispatchers get. Once they are done with training they are the first to be called for overtime, short notice and scheduled overtime. Guest guest
I'm a part-time dispatcher with another agency and my training was the same as the full-time dispatchers; 2 weeks at the state criminal justice academy and then on the job until released. Gratned mine took longer to complete because I wasn't working every day. -- Firefighter Specialist/EMT-ST Communications Support Group Charlottesville, VA Fire Dept. www.cfdonline.org
