Hello

You are kidding ( I hope ). At four weeks you are sill not 100% load

bearing on your new hip . I would scratch the FREE cruse in favor of

the very expensive hip , but dont take my word ask your Dr .

Your thought should be on giving yourself the best chance of a full

recovery . Dr Mont did my hip on 12/29 and i would not ask him to put

his reputation on the line so i could have some fun. jmho

I am four weeks post op on a mcminn hip (left side) and frankly if you cannot

make the cruise send the tickets over here!!!!! You should have no problem, I

walk easily albeit I still use a cane but I think that can go very soon.

There is more discomfort in my other thigh due to a reaction from the nerves

and I guess that is because the leg has not been used " correctly " for some

years. All in all go for it you will be fine

I just past the four week point three days ago and most of my difficulty and

all of my pain is from the hip which Dr. Mont will take care of on 2/2. I

had my left hip done first, so I'm driving without difficulty and returned

to work for two half days this past week. I'm still on a 20% weight bearing

restriction, but crutches or a walker provide mobility. I still get tired

more than usual, but it seems on a cruise you would have plenty of time to

rest. I wouldn't expect to do any physical activities and the location of

your cabin and availability of an elevator could be a problem, but sitting

in the sun and eating sound good! I'd be tempted, but I certainly agree

with Pat, you should clear it with Dr. Mont.
