Guest guest
we had one once. Just up and disappeared, I don't know why. The feature I liked is that everyone got to put in nominations for a column called " meet the officer " . That was a neat way to get to know about the newer officers. Guest guest
And if you do, are your newsletters print or email? -----Original Message----- From: Harrington Do any departments do a weekly or bi-monthly internal " newsletter " or email for those in dispatch? Guest guest
Our Director tries to put out a newsletter but sometimes it comes out every 18 months when equipment changes is going on or about to change
Guest guest
The Oklahoma DPS Communications Recognition Committee does one about 4 to 6 times a year. It all depends upon content as to how often it is published. Items include personal as well as professional. Example we lost 2 c.o.'s last year and those copies obviously had a full inside page dedicated to the employee, most are 4 pages, occasionally 6. They all include a column from the Division Director who updates on policy and equipment, a section from the Director for radio services on equipment upgrades etc. The last one had a 2 page picture layout for the most recent manhunt in Oklahoma in which we had approximately 15 tactical C.O.'s deployed as well. They also include Dilbert the Dispatcher, our cartoon strip about the trials and tribulations of a 20 year dispatcher keeping up with new technology as well as daily frustrations we all feel. If you E mail me off list I can try to get a couple of past issues out to show you what we are talking about. We use our Training staff to submit training bulletins for issues in that area, but we follow up in our newsletters P-46 Ok DPS COMM
