donor update

Well, I received a call from Denver yesterday, after he spoke with his coordinator, and as it stands right now he is not a candidate. Something showed up on his EKG. Suzanne, his coordinator told him she would speak with the cardiologist and get back with him sometime today. Currently, he does not know what the heart problem is, but I pray that whatever it is it can be easily resolved - NOT FOR MY SAKE, but for his!

Regarding me...if the final word is that he's denied as my donor, than I will have to look at other options. There's one more person that MAY be a possibility, but I have to think long and hard about the situation. asked me again yesterday about being my donor and I told her NO! I want a liver I know will work properly and for that I think I must look OUTSIDE of our family. If ultimately I don't have a live donor I will need to look at Pittsburgh after all. We'll see.

By the way finally had her LFT's checked yesterday and the doctor drilled into her brain that he needs to see her every 6 mo. for follow ups. I love our primary care! I saw him right before she did and I got into trouble for being a tattletale. Oh, well, it was worth it! Her issues are right abdominal discomfort, slight jaundice (that she noticed) and her legs itch so bad she has scars from scratching. That was all I needed to tell on her about her reluctance to have her blood drawn. She was afraid that she'd look like a hypochondriac if it turns out that her LFTs are normal. I told her she would feel real stupid if something is wrong and she didn't go, plus I'd have to kick her in her shins which would just add insult to injury! Although I wish she would have gone when she was suffering the most from all of these symptoms, at least we're moving forward and the doc plans to keep a close eye on her. Thank God!!!

Well, enough for now. I'll update as I'm able.
