Just my 2 cents...my husbands hepotologist has given him a standing order for Cipro..whenever he has those pains as you've described he is to take them for 3 days....

Here goes - Thank you so much for your advice. It so nice to talk topeople who are in the same boat as you are, especially when they havefelt the same pains. I thought that the stent placement was done inan emergency situation but now I know differently. The pain isexactly like you said, sometimes sharp and that's it or likeyesterday, a dull constant ache. Today it is an off and on dull acheso I guess that is better. I tried to get into the dr next week butshe is out of town. I might have misrepresented this area. We dohave hospitals and good doctors but no one specializes in livers so Ido not fully trust them in an emergency situation.Deb, I am curious as to why you would not have a supply of antibioticswith you just in case?? I have Cipro for my pouchitis and was temptedto take one but am not sure I should be doctoring myself. How long have you had PSC?
